Now I'm hungry! What a refreshing change from the glossy new cookbooks. I love how descriptive she is. I loved your review. I got a great sense of the book. Now I must find it.

Thanks for participating!

This is a great review- thanks so much! I can see how this cookbook would be lovely for an experienced cook, but I can also see how it would intimidate someone who doesn't cook quite so often. I don't like how cooking seems to have been relegated to "hobby" status so much these days, more than a requirement. I like that the cookbook is more a guideline, and as I think I am fairly comfortable in the kitchen, I would love to have my hands on this.

A book I read recently (that tackles a lot more than just cooking) is Paula Butturini's memoir about living in Italy. You might enjoy it!
